A cat-eye that behaves itself
The lift at the outer corner is there, but it is rolled rather than pointed, and the lower edge runs almost straight across. That makes it the version of the shape you can wear to work: it reads as a well-drawn frame rather than as a costume decision, which is not something most cat-eyes manage.

Gloss acetate, flat front
The front is acetate in a high-gloss black, cut with a soft lift at the outer corner and a bridge moulded into the piece. The material is carried a little beyond the lens all the way round — enough to give the outline weight, not so much that the frame reads chunky.
The temples are flat acetate arms with a small metal marker at the hinge, running back straight and finishing with a slight curve. There is no metal on the face of the frame at all.

Why it costs what it costs
Acetate is cut from sheet rather than moulded from pellets, and a gloss finish has to be tumbled and polished until the surface is even — a patchy gloss is the first thing that gives a cheap frame away. That finishing is the slow part of making a frame like this.
We sell direct. There is no shop floor between the frame and you and no distributor taking a cut on the way, so the retail margin that normally sits on top of a piece like this is simply not in the price. That is why a properly finished acetate cat-eye does not have to cost what a properly finished acetate cat-eye usually costs.

Is there more than one colour?
No. This model is supplied in a single black colourway and one size.
Are these polarised or UV rated?
The maker does not publish a lens specification for this model, so we do not claim one. Other frames in the range state UV400 or polarisation and are labelled accordingly.
Is a cat-eye too much for everyday?
This version is not. The lift is rolled rather than pointed and the lower edge runs level, which is what keeps it from reading as a costume frame.
Are the nose pads adjustable?
There are no pads. The bridge is moulded into the acetate front, so the height on the nose is fixed by the design.
Does gloss acetate scratch?
It shows a fine scratch more clearly than matte does, which is the trade for the depth of colour. A case rather than a bag is what makes the difference.
How should it be cleaned?
Rinse under cool water to lift grit, then dry with a soft cloth. Keep acetate away from heat — a car dashboard in summer is what warps a frame, not wear.
