Two materials, one frame
The browline is the shape that puts all its weight along the top: a thick tortoiseshell brow carried across the face, and a fine gold-tone wire holding the bottom of the lens. It reads as a heavy frame from above the eye and as almost nothing below it, which is why it flatters a face that a full rim would close in.

Brow in acetate, rim in metal
The upper half is a thick moulded brow in a tortoiseshell pattern, carried out past the outer corner and into the temple in one continuous piece. Below the lens the rim is a fine gold-tone wire, so the lower edge of the frame is a line rather than a border.
The arms match the brow in the same tortoiseshell material with a metal core at the hinge, and there are small pads at the bridge. The two-material build is what the shape is — a browline in one material is just a rimmed frame.

Why it costs what it costs
A browline is two frames in one. The acetate brow and the metal lower rim have to be made separately and joined so that the lens sits square between them, which is more assembly than a single-material frame needs. A polarised lens costs more than a tint.
We sell direct. There is no shop floor between the frame and you and no distributor taking a cut on the way, so the retail margin that normally sits on top of a build like this is simply not in the price. What that money pays for instead is the build — two materials properly joined and a polarised lens rather than a plain one.

Who does a browline suit?
Most faces, which is why the shape has lasted. It draws a line along the brow and leaves the lower half open, so it adds structure without closing the face in.
Is there more than one colour?
No. This model is supplied in a single tortoiseshell and gold colourway, one size.
What does polarised actually change?
It removes the flat glare that bounces off horizontal surfaces — wet tarmac, a car bonnet, water, snow. Colours look deeper and you squint less.
Are these UV rated?
